Bob Carmichael has recently moved back to Boulder after 25 years in the film business in California. He graduated from the University of Colorado. Bob is an avid climber, cyclist, skier, and surfer. Bob is a director/cameraman with extensive national and international commercial and feature film experience. He has a film comany called Denali Productions. In the motion picture arena, Bob specializes in action and extreme sports. He has both an Academy Award nomination and an Emmy Award to his credit.
As a still photographer, Carmichael has been largely inspired by Henri Cartier-Bresson, Ansel Adams, Eloit Porter and Galen Rowell. Carmichael specializes in capturing moments of light and composition in the critical arenas of nature, music performance and sports. This talent for capturing "The moment" is highly applicable to event documentary photography as well.
